Eight characters from the Shrek 5 trailer that should become LEGO minifigures

The first full Shrek 5 trailer has been released, and it is packed with LEGO minifigure opportunities, ranging from obvious choices to brand-new characters.

Shrek 5 is set to release in summer 2027, and in June 2026 we got our first taste of the franchise in LEGO form with 72423 Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots and 40923 Shrek, Donkey & Gingy Figures.

It has also been confirmed that a Shrek minifigure series will launch in September. However, details remain unconfirmed, and it is not yet known whether it will focus on characters from the first four films or be tied specifically to the fifth film.

If it does focus on the newest release, the trailer introduces a wide range of potential minifigures that could be included. If it doesn’t, the door remains open for sets based on the latest instalment anyway.  From the trailer alone, there are already eight strong contenders for minifigures.

Shrek

It would be impossible to do a Shrek minifigure series without the main character himself. Shrek features heavily in the trailer and, although he has already appeared as a buildable character in 72423 Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots, it would be great to see him as a minifigure.

Donkey

Similarly, Donkey has also appeared as a buildable character in 72423 Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots. However, with Eddie Murphy’s character seemingly taking on a strong comedic lead role in this film, a dedicated mould for Donkey would be great to see.

Fiona

Like Shrek, Fiona feels like an essential inclusion. She is a key character in the franchise and is likely to play a major role again in this film, making her inclusion in minifigure form highly likely.

The Gingerbread Man

One of the trailer’s more comedic highlights features the Gingerbread Man, which would translate well into minifigure form – likely as a Babyfig. It would be a distinctive and highly collectible piece, especially with colourful leg printing to match the scene.

Fergus and Farkle

Two of Fiona and Shrek’s triplets, Fergus and Farkle, appear prominently in the trailer. Voiced by Skyler Gisondo and Marcello Hernandez, the pair are expected to play a significant role in the film, and a dual minifigure release would make sense.

Felicia

Although she only appears briefly in the trailer, Felicia – Shrek and Fiona’s only daughter – is reportedly central to the film’s story. Voiced by Zendaya, her storyline appears to drive much of the plot, making a minifigure version of her feel highly likely.

The Witch

Shrek 5 trailer Witch

Witches have appeared throughout the Shrek franchise, and one features in this trailer as well. She is seen riding a broomstick designed like a motorbike with handlebars, alongside Felicia. Whether she is a named character remains unclear, but a minifigure version with goggles and the broom-bike would be a strong inclusion.

While all of this remains speculation, we will report on the official minifigure series details when they are announced.
